Balance
Yes, balance is a very important thing. Without it nothing makes sense.
Today I had the best example of balance… I will begin from the beginning…
As you probably now, if not, keep on reading… today I left London to move out to Zürich to start a new phase in my life, so yesterday I was packing everything into boxes, because when I came to London I sent all my stuff from Spain in a big box, because I thought that it would be much better for me, because I was flying with my electric bass and the hand baggage, so I don’t know how, but I filled up the same big box and 3 boxes more, and also a baggage that a friend of mine let me. It’s incredible, how only in 7 months living in London I got that amount of things… anyway.. so because yesterday I was all day busy packing, I had to postpone send the stuff until this morning, so I woke up early in the morning in order to finish everything and take the 4 boxes to the parcel delivery services. I called my landlord and I asked him to be asap, because I had to go the city airport before 2pm in order to check-in my baggage, but my landlord was very late, so we finished by 12:30pm but I had to go before going to the airport to the bank to take my Swiss francs that I ordered yesterday. So I was running late.. and after finish everything and get into the tube station the worst scenario.. the station was closed.. because the district and circle line were closed due a signal problem in Earl’s Court, so I had to take a bus and take the central line to Bank and then change to the DRL, but the problem was that I was carrying two baggage, 21kg and 12kg, plus my thicker anorak and another backpack and today in London was very Sunny (as usual) so I was dying because of the hot… so finally after waiting for the bus and spending like 15 minutes (waiting + travelling) I got into Notting Hill Gate and there begun my hell, because of the incredible amount of stairs that I had to take in order to reach the platform… OK, so after getting into the platform, another surprise, I had to wait for the central line more than 5 minutes, when the waiting average is about 2 minutes… (travelling…) I finished at Bank, so let’s go to the DLR I said.. but everything was getting worst.. do you know how many stairs I had to take to reach the DLR? Oh my goodness… thanks that one person helped me to take one baggage, because I was so tired… and then I had to wait 10 minutes for the DLR to the City Airport.. Resuming.. I left High Street Kensington at 1pm and I reached the airport at 2:30pm, so I spent twice the time that it usually takes in that journey… At least the Airport was small and the people from British Airways were very nice. Now I know the difference between flying with a company of Low Cost and a regular line, in this case, was worthy, because my hand baggage was 12kg, plus my backpack and they said that it was OK, if instead of BA it would be a low cost airline, the situation, it would be so different..
Once I got into Zürich I went to take the bus to my new house (temporary) and it was fine, because it took me only 12 minutes.. wow, Swiss punctuality it’s awesome… they are so accurate and I like it.. anyway.. thanks to Google Street View, I recognized my street without problems, so after being in the main door of the house, I discovered that the key wasn’t in the place that the agency told me, so I tried to call them, but the phones were switched off… so I was thinking in going to an hotel, but suddenly, the agent appeared by chance, and I thought that was a neighbour from the house, so I asked for that special place, and he told me if I was Pedro, and I answered affirmative, so the first thing he told me was, that I was very very lucky, because they thought that I was coming on Saturday, not today, and he was absolutely by chance in that place, because the agency is based in another city.. we couldn’t believe it.. definitely, I was very lucky.. and here is where it comes the balance.. after being all day running from one place to another.. when I was finishing the day, the balance gave me what I needed.. a place where to take a rest… and the best thing.. I just discovered, that my apartment has blinds… I missed a lot from Spain all this time… but they are back!!!
So, after this huge post, I will go to bed, tomorrow it’s going to be a very long day…
Auf Wiedersehen!!! ;-)
